I am always on the lookout for things that can make a difference in the lives of my clients. Anything that can save people stress, time and worry can really have a huge impact on the lives of my clients and their Loved One.

We have to endure or figure out a work-around for so many things that we can no longer do either mentally or physically. As a Caregiving expert, I work with clients and families to look at what items continually blow up their schedules to look at what can be done to change or contain the circumstances surrounding these daily issues.
The Challenge of TV Programming
One of the most common issues I see is the frustration of trying to program a TV or simply find the show a Loved One may want to watch. I have experienced this first hand with my Mom getting frustrated because she could not get her TV to do what she wanted. I have stopped what I was doing and drove over 20 minutes to her house to see if I could figure it out. Without seeing the screen to know exactly what the issues were, guiding her through the steps to fix whatever was wrong was next to impossible. If I was unable to make the drive, sometimes I could talk a neighbor into helping her out or one of her Caregivers when she had them. My Mom died in 2016 and we all know that watching television has only become more complicated – not less!
And it wasn’t just my Mom – I have had multiple clients with cognitive issues. The inability to find and watch the show they’d like to see can have a huge effect on their mood and completely set them on a grumpy trajectory until the issue is fixed. This can make life unpleasant for everyone around them!
